SUMMA McCOSKER

Summa McCosker (nee Summa Noyen) is the Operations Director of PeopleCheck and is a qualified Criminologist with twleve years experience undertaking employment background checks.  Summa has specialised in employment background checking since its infancy in Australia and has experience undertaking employment background checks, both within Australia and throughout the world.  Summa has a Master of Criminology from the University of Sydney and Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Western Sydney.

During her career, Summa has initiated and overseen ongoing employment background checking programs for clients in Australia, Asia, the Americas and Europe.  Prior to establishing PeopleCheck, Summa worked with one of the world’s ‘Big 4’ professional services firms for six years as the Manager of the Employment Screening division.   Additionally, Summa grew and developed the Employment Screening division of an Australian based fraud risk management consultancy. 

In these roles, Summa trained and managed background validation teams in Australia and Europe, as well as refined and developed processes to address individual client demands and requirements. One of her most complex challenges was the implementation and ongoing management of an international background checking program for a large global financial services client.  The project was run from Sydney and involved undertaking background checks in over 40 countries.

Summa has worked with clients across a myriad of industry sectors including; financial services, information technology, construction, retail, recruitment, international background checking firms, professional services, mortgage industry, banking and insurance. 

Summa is the APAC representative on the National Association of Professional Background Screeners’ (NAPBS) International Education Committee whose goal is to create meaningful dialogue across the international screening community to increase education, as well as the understanding of needs and expectations of background screening firms and their clients.
